To actually comment on your point, Twitter is the perfect place for a fraud like this purely because it is so flashy, so quick and "results" can be seen real time. Research into anything you are investing is always the best option, and if you try yourself you will be surprised on how far you can actually get. The point of my post was more about how there are so many that claim to be experts, yet are not. There are several really amazing social media experts out there.
